THE OCTODEC 9
PARTNERING WITH RAIZCORP
At Octodec, we believe in the future of our country, just as we believe in the future of our company. With this in mind, we not only invest in property, we invest in people, communities and society. To make a lasting, positive impact, we are focusing on helping some of our local suppliers grow their businesses, so they can “leave the nest” and reach for greater heights. We are passionate in our commitment: to enhance and develop our existing suppliers to improve the long-term sustainability and profitability of their enterprises. Our aim is to make their businesses scalable and more commercially viable, with the potential to supply other large companies. Importantly, we are also looking to grow and develop smaller businesses to the point where they too can be part of our Octodec supply chain. When we help local entrepreneurs develop their business capabilities, local communities can benefit, as the ripple effect leads to growth, job creation and improved skills for their employees. By following this approach, our investment can reach a growing number of people, their families and have a meaningful, sustainable effect. The Octodec 9 is not simply a box-ticking exercise — we are proud to launch our new initiative and look forward to seeing our candidates and their businesses flourish.
The Octodec 9 initiative is our emerging local business launchpad. It is an opportunity for promising entrepreneurs to hone their skills, unlock their potential and access the broader market. Fostering a South African-inspired business spirit, The Octodec 9 comprises six men and three women from previously disadvantaged backgrounds. Our R3.8 million funding of this initiative is a responsible investment in the future of our country’s economy. We have partnered with Raizcorp, Africa’s leading business incubator, to achieve the best results.
